What did you do before: “I worked for 18yrs as a Customer Service Agent for the airlines.”

What did you think of the program and how your studies will help you get employment?  “It gave me the certification I need to move forward. Confidence dealing with people and the office skill required to do the reporting. I did a practicum at SOS – Society of Organized Services working with community groups for kids and the homeless. “

What would you like to do with your CSW Diploma? “I would like to start my own business in personal development coaching.”

Community Service Worker with Addictions Diploma

Medical Office Assistant Diploma

Curriculum Includes: General computers skills, MS Office, bookkeeping, Medical Terminology and Anatomy, Medical Office and Clinical Procedures; Medical Transcription; First Aid and CPR. This program additionally includes a preceptorship.

“I was out of the country for 4 years and when I came back to Canada, I applied for some clerical positions with no luck. I found that most companies wanted certificates. That is when I came to AOLCC and with the help of the facilitators, I made the decision to enrol for the Administrative Assistant Diploma. I feel I learned a lot in every subject that I will take forward into a new career path.”

I chose Academy of Learning because it gave me a chance to work and learn at my own pace. Honestly being a person who has dealt with anxiety, this was a great choice for me to gain the knowledge and skills to move forward with my career. It was the best choice I’ve made to further my education.

Knowing I needed more education, I felt it was either here or TRU. I came in not expecting to sign up right away but after the first initial visit I knew it was a place for me. I loved the flexibility, the friendliness and how accessible the fancily was and is. If I didn’t get it right away the staff or students helped me understand in a better light. From being here I have created a contact list of who is who and from this, when I create my business, I will take advantage of this opportunity. Being here opened a lot more doors that once were closed to me mentally and emotionally and has helped create a mindful man which I will always be grateful for.

During my program here at the Academy of Learning College, it became my second home, in a sense. I have been made to feel cared about and was always encouraged and motivated by the Facilitators. I enjoyed the fact that I could go at my own pace and had all the tools available to me to work with sufficiently. My learning experience here was incredibly beneficial to succeed in my further endeavors.

Going to AOLCC has been a very good experience for me. The staff was informative and polite. Courses were taught very well and all my questions were answered. Thanks to the staff for everything.

I found it a great revival of old skills while creating new skills. I the loved the work at your own pace schedule, it enabled me to have time for work and family.

I highly recommend AOLCC Nanaimo to anyone considering advancing their education. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The choice to attend AOLCC Nanaimo was made quite simple because I obtained my diploma in just over 9 months compared to a 2 year program at a university for the same diploma. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and have set myself up for a very successful future with AOLCC Nanaimo’s help.

I am so pleased to have been given the opportunity to let go of my fears of failing academically and allow the learning coaches to help me achieve this huge undertaking to become a qualified Computer Service Repair person and after being out of college for many many years.

The services offered here at the Academy of Learning in my point of view are excellent. Having taken another computer course before this we didn’t get the help we needed if we received any help at all. We also never received the proper education on the hours to obtain employment after completing the course. After doing this course I feel if I do all the requirements I will be able to find a job or further my education.

Also after observing the staff here at the Academy of Learning they are the most helpful and the friendliest and more compassionate people in this type of work. They seem to enjoy what they are doing and don’t treat it as “Just a Job” like most.
