Its objective is to provide students with the skills and knowledge needed to pursue employment as an Educational Assistant. Students explore theories and best practices in child development, learning processes, teaching techniques, classroom management, and student supervision. The program also covers the roles of Educational Assistants in special education and early childhood settings.

Module 1 – Introduction to Educational Assistance
Overview of the EA role, responsibilities, inclusive education, and working within school teams.
Module 2 – Child Development & Behaviour Foundations
Study of social, emotional, cognitive, and language development; behaviour theory and application.
Module 3 – Classroom Techniques & Learning Support
Classroom organization, supervision, learning strategies, IEP support, and instructional practices.
Module 4 – Supporting Diverse & Special Needs Learners
Techniques for assisting students with developmental, physical, sensory, and behavioural needs.
Module 5 – Health, Safety & Compassionate Care
Safety procedures, mobility support, hygiene assistance, first aid, and student well-being practices.
Module 6 – Educational Materials, Assessments & Technology
Preparing learning materials, documenting progress, and supporting technology use in classrooms.
Module 7 – Communication & Professional Collaboration
Team communication, reporting, boundaries, and supporting teachers and specialists.
Module 8 – Practicum Experience
Supervised field placement in a school setting, applying real-world EA skills with student support.
The program includes assignments, projects, quizzes, and guided practice to reinforce learning. The practicum provides hands-on experience supporting teachers and students in real classrooms.
Students graduate with strong competencies in inclusion support, classroom assistance, communication, and child development application.
Grade 12 or equivalent, or Mature Student Status.
Good English communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
Interview confirming motivation and readiness.
